This design and installation project was a joy! Previously a complete grass lawn, the new space includes flagstone and gravel pad for a camper, flagstone patio and walkway, 2 rain gardens plus an overflow garden, fire pit and socializing space, curved mulched pathways, large climbing boulders for kids, rainwater harvesting, and most importantly native and perennial plantings to encourage diversity and health of the local ecosystem.

The rain garden helps to manage the roughly 9500 gallons of precipitation that collects on this side of the home annually. They help sink and spread the water where it can be put to productive use growing pollinator friendly gardens and habitat. Flagstone is natural Manitoulin limestone, meticulously installed by two local workers.
